I am not that educated on the subject of the white blood cells, however
my history of what I went through was that apparently the ATDs can
destroy the white blood cells as well as cause damage to the liver and
other organs if you are on it long enough. That is why it is seldom a
permanent solution. Anyway, the white blood cells fight infections so
if you start running a fever that should mean that the white blood cells
are deminishing. At least this is what I was told in bits and pieces as I was going through things myself.
I hope this answers your question.
    Take care and God bless,
    Penny

“One of this first signs is a sore throat” Some of us with enlarged thyroids always have a sore throat. How do we know if we’re in trouble? Susan

I’m certainly not a physician but if the symptoms persisted, were more acute than a “routine” sore throat or had serious concern(s), I would contact my Doctor/health provider and ask him/her for an appointment.

A high temperature is the other symptom to watch out for.
