Hi everyone. I’m newly diagnosed graves, and like eveyone, very confused. I’m taking 60mg of ATD and 45 mg of beta blocker and my heart rate is still 100. Endo said I can’t have RAI for 2 months at least, until my levels come down and stabilize. This is confusing since I have read that RAI is done immediately to prevent thyroid storm. Can anyone clarify this ? Also, my left eye is protruding, and the endo says this will further complicate treatment. Should I be seeing an opthomologist now ? I haven’t yet been referrd to one. I’m tired of waiting around in between visits ( one month apart), and feel I need to be doing something more proactive. I have also experienced severe swelling of legs, ankles, and feet. Endo says this is from something else, but doesn’t know what. Has anyone else had this problem ?
