Hi Nancy, I have a few opinions I would like to share about folks who don’t post an e-mail address. Some folks may not post an address if they share a P.C. and e-mail because they do not want others – spouse, children, etc. – to read responses. From reading the BB I have often seen posts from people whose family members are unsupportive in the extreme. It may be difficult for these people to receive replies that can be read by others.
Some people post for information on issues they find embarrassing and hard to discuss with their family but may find easier to discuss with a ‘faceless’ BB – topics such as bowel and bladder control, lack of sex drive, hostility, lack of family understanding.
Some people may not post an address because they cannot cope with a large number of e-mails and replies because they are feeling lousy.
Some people may read the BB from a P.C. at work and may not be able to receive or send personal e-mails. Before I had a P.C. at home I read the BB during my lunch 1/2 hour at work. This was ok with my employer, however, he frowned on us receiveng/sending personal e-mails from our work P.C.’s. We have a system that allows him to check and see to whom we send e-mail and from whom we receive it. He can also read all of our e-mail.
Please reconsider your rule about not posting to those who do not leave an e-mail address. Thanks!

I didn’t get the impression from Nancy’s post that she was insisting that everyone MUST include their e-mail address. She was just asking if people could. Did I miss something?

Also, to people who don’t have an e-mail address they can use from work, there are a number of no-cost ways to get extra e-mail addresses that you can access through the internet. You can get on the internet for free at many libraries. I keep a separate e-mail address for anything I wouldn’t want sent to me at work. It’s worked pretty well for me.
