Dear Jeannette – Thanks for your message! No, the endo did not even mention treatment/remission as an option. I really don’t know why, except perhaps because of the problems my older daughter had, he thinks the best results would come from surgery or RAI. I will be sure to ask him when we visit again.

      Take care and thanks again,

      Margaret

Hi Jeannette – Thanks for the writing, and for your words of encouragement. I’m assumming by your comments that the endo should be able to positively determine whether it is Graves or thyroditis???? I was reading an interesting article today on the Web that stated that ANY form of hyperthyroidism could cause the upper eyelids to retract but only Graves would cause the protrusion. Interesting, huh?

Since my blood tests taken by my OB apparently came back indicating that I was possibly HYPO, and says I could go either HYPO or HYPER (GREAT!!!), my daughter and I will both be visiting the endo on Monday. Hopefully I’ll have some answers then but who knows – I’ll let you know.

Hope you and your family are doing fine now.

PS I’m a teacher in New Mexico and my daughter with Graves is a teacher in Oklahoma.

          Margaret
