When I was very hyperthyroid, I had gum recession and bleeding gums but it had NOTHING to do with RAI. Should I repeat that?

It has EVERYTHING to do with hyperthyroidism.

Please, please, when in doubt, suspect the disease as the culprit FIRSTand if that possibility is eliminated, THEN check side effects of the cure. There will be plenty of data on drug or treatment side effects.

It makes me quite anxious when we have misinformation on this board even if it is in the form of opinion.

      Good luck to all,
      Claudia

I know you don’t know my situation well. I am hyper-sensetive to drugs also. So, I know that this was due to the PTU. If you look at my medical records (and I mean ALL of them) you will notice that I was hyperthyroid and hypothyroid without any serious complications). I had no cavities, I had no fillings in the mouth, I had no problems with the gums. Should I repeat that????
And I had this dreaded problem since BIRTH. Now, for me giving an opinion, okay, first amendment rights.:!
