    Hi Jan,

    Curious from your statement that Jake had TED and didn’t know it (prior to RAI). How was that determined? From photos? Thanks!

    I am going to Mayo’s next week for a consult because my doctor here in Nebraska has shown little interest in helping me with Graves. I am presently on 50 mg PTU twice a day. If they should decide to do RAI at Mayo’s how long do I have to be off the PTU in order for them to do it?

    I think things vary from one patient to the next, CEJ. It may depend upon your blood values; it might depend upon a lot of things. Average wait from stopping the antithyroid to getting the RAI seems to be about a week, if it’s fair to judge from the postings on this board. And that may not be a good way to make guesses.

    I wish you luck with your trip, and hope you get the help you need.
