    Good evening Warriors,

I read through Mary Shomom’s Thyroid newsletter
and zeroed in on the synthroid issue with the FDA
and the split compounds that are placed in our doses. Do you warriors think it is safe to say that are meds may need to be adjusted upward to take this
into consideration. For instance the JAMA, Dr. Dong had tested 200 mg of synthroid and said there was a 70/30 mix of synthroid that was tested. (This is my current dose.) As we all know those up and down days this does make sense especially when you know you are a stable person and cannot explain why you are feeling the way you do .) I have an endo appt in the a.m. and will ask my doctor at the teaching hospital. My guess is that he will be conservative and say no till all the facts are published. But it cannot hurt to try! Have a good night!

Denise: I’ve been looking through the materials I printed out on this issue from Mary’s site and cannot find what you are referring to.

“Split compounds”? Are you referring to the “fillers” that have to go into the mix to make the chemical into a pill?

“70/30 mix”? In the JAMA article on bioequivalence? Or did you find a different one?
