I’m taking a 12 hour non-stop flight to Ireland in June, and I’m thinking of asking my doctor to prescribe a sleeping pill (since I’ve never flown such a long flight, and I can’t sleep on planes.) Has anyone ever had any problems taking sleeping pills with Graves? (I used to take OTC cold pills to sleep on the plane, but since Grave’s, they make me too jittery.)

My doc said to try some sleeping pills, ambien. Im usually opposed to these meds but i just cant sleep, i end up sleeping somewhat in the day and have dreams in the day. I think my schedule is messed up, anyone else ever try sleeping pills?

My endocrinologist gave me atavan 1 mg. for sleep. It didn’t seem to help much at first, I only take it about 3 times a wk., but it sure helps. I had my RAI on Aug. 1, actually starting to feel very sluggish, having labs drawn on Thurs. (unless I wake up and can’t get out of bed sooner). Still having trouble getting good sleep tho. Hope this helps.
