While hyper, I noticed that I felt shakey and icky (like I hadn’t eaten), if I ate fish. (I’m allergic to shellfish, so I can’t comment on that.) When I asked my endo about it, he said, “Don’t eat foods high in iodine for a while.”

My approach is common sense–if you feel bad when you eat something or take a certain kind of supplement, avoid it for a while until things change.

    Hi,
I have not posted in a while but I am usually lurking in the bushes,
I could not eat ANY kind of shellfish when I was hyper, and for a long time after, I have started in the last year or so but shrimp do not agree with me, I can eat crablegs, and fish but not in great quantities.I had RAI about 3 years ago and have been pretty stable for about 2 1/2 years.

I have read numerous posts on shellfish and GD. I just returned from boston and ate lobster, that night I got a rash on my foot. Was gone when I woke up. I had a little shrimp fried rice and got a rash on other leg. Has anyone else gotten a rash from shellfish? I go to my endo Thursday and will lay off shellfish for a while – boo hoo! Also, while in boston went to a famous spot and attempted to climb to the top, had a major panic attack and could only go 50 steps, that is the first time I know of this happening. Any advice?? Hope everyone is doing well.

Is it true that ppl with Graves should stay away from seafood? I don’t know how anyone react to it..but recently, after I have a seafood meal, I feel really nervous. Do you think this has something to do with the seafood?
Also, my blood work is coming back normal with tap 10mg once a day. I’ve been taking wheatgrass at the juice place. Don’t know if it’s helping? But I’m going to keep taking the wheatgrass until otherwise.
I’m going to see my endo next week. Eventhough I’m good with my meds, I’m going to request for a switch from tap to ptu because my husband and I wish to start a family. Any advise on it?
My endo told me previously that it does not matter..I should stop taking tap after I’m pregnant. But I’ve heard otherwise. Well, please share any experience or thoughts on this.
    Thanks
Be strong everyone…I”m not helpless anymore. I just need to change my nick.
