I had a bone denisty test done and was told that I have osteoporosis in my hip and osteopenia in my 1st two vertebre. (I think thats correct) My OB/GYN put me on Fosomax and told me to maintain a weight bearing exercise program and also increase my calcium suppplments to 1500-2000mg per day. I take the calcium and exercise but must admit I have not been faithful with the Fosomax. I was taking it regularly for awhile and had no side affects with it. You must take it on an empty stomach and not lay down after taking it. I would take it first thing in the morning, jump in the shower and get ready for the day….I am to go back in a year for a 2nd bone density test. I really should take the Fosomax daily….guess I’m sick of popping pills…anyway, my OB/GYN did not make it seem that rebuilding some bone loss was impossible but did seem more concerned with increased loss..
