You have hit on a huge issue with this dis ease…It is not only an individual illness, but is also a family illness, impacting everyone who’s lives are in close proximity to the GD patient. Some family members like to get involved and some are afraid to and feel helpless, for a myriad of reasons, just like we do. It takes good communication skills in the relationship (something we don’t usually especially when acutely ill with this illness. With information, open communication and time, wonders occur. You learn…and so do they…usually. but to be absolutely honest, this disease really can put a strain on relationships and not all make it to the other side, recovery, when sanity returns, at least to some degree :0)… I wish you well with this. And you will fell better in time, and so will your husband.
