      Nancy,

I didn’t think about vitiligo and Graves although I should have. I
took Jason (my son age 17) to the doc yesterday for a physical. Jason has
vitiligo and the antibodies against his pancrias already. That is two
autoimmune problems going on at once. The doc wanted to run a thyroid
check on Jason but wants to wait until after he has some moles removed by
the demeratologist. How often do you think we should have Jason checked?
Does anyone else have this type of history?

      Regards,
      Jake

Quickie question since I wasn’t at the dermatology presentation. What is the incidence of pple with Graves’ disease developing Vitiligo??
A sibling in my family has this and it just hit me today that it is also an autoimmunity dysfunction. Am I right?? Does this make me at greater risk for developing other autoimmune diseases such as this one?

My sister does not have Graves. However, she developed vitiligo after the birth of her son. She has not been able to have more children. I guess it just hit me that I am not the only one with an autoimmunity problem and that my risks might be higher in the future for other disorders.

        Any thoughts welcome.
        Thanks
        Maria
