According to my labs your TSH is within normal range (reference range 0.47-6.90). Your T4 looks high, but I’m not a doc and you don’t have bloodwork done at the same lab as me. My Free T4 reference range is 0.8-2.0. It’s always interesting to compare numbers, as long as you remember that we’re looking at different lab ranges.
Wishing you the best, Debby
AnonymousFebruary 18, 1997 at 5:36 amPost count: 93172Steve: Since your ranges are all within normal for your lab, I don’t know that I would worry about it right now. I have heard of people becoming hyper again, after RAI, but it is rare. The “success” rate for RAI is very high. There is a second reason why people can be at the higher end of the range, while on the synthetic hormones, that has nothing to do with the thyroid rejuvenating (so to speak), and that is that the DOSE of synthetic hormone may be slightly too high for you. That’s why sometimes the endo raises the dose, sometimes they lower the dose as they try to balance us out.

I was one of those lucky people who had to have a second dose of RAI. My
Tsh levels decreased steadly and almost predictably. Slowly we got to the
point where I was almost on no synthroid and the Tsh dropped again. You may
want to watch for this, however, your synthroid dose may be too high. Being
the unique individual that I am, (Ha Ha) When we started to regulate my
new dose, I had gotten up to 125 mg, that was too high, 112 mg was too low.
So, now I alternate the dose, and just like Goldielocks and the three bears,
this dose feels “just right!” The dosing is a tricky thing, balancing and all
that stuff….hope this helps….CarolynAnonymousFebruary 18, 1997 at 4:05 pmPost count: 93172thanks for the help,i will watch my blood for next little while cant do

AnonymousFebruary 18, 1997 at 8:39 pmPost count: 93172Well, Steve my boy, if I’m understanding your lab results correctly, I’d say that the numbers show that you are in normal range in all cases. I know it’s frustrating and nerve-racking, but you now have to be patient and let your meds do their thing. Monitor your levels regularly and let the doctors adjust your medication as needed. You can do it! Look at how far you’ve come already!
Hang in there, Debby

AnonymousFebruary 20, 1997 at 7:47 pmPost count: 93172Hi Steve! No, I would never consider you a wimp. Just confused and scared like the rest of us, wondering what our future holds. This disease seems so unpredictable. Even though I’m “over” the worst of it (I think, I hope), I still can’t help but wonder if I will be revisited with some other ailment associated with Graves’. It helps to know that there are others out there who have been there. Good luck with your tests. I hope you’re feeling better SOON!
Debby
P.S. Thanks – I’ve had a lot of fun working on my page. I hope to do more!AnonymousFebruary 20, 1997 at 11:31 pmPost count: 93172thanks for understanding
