My greatest concern about surgery was not the scar, or the potential for damage to my voice box. But I was concerned about the possibility for damage to the parathyroids, the sister glands of the thyroid. Please consult with your doctor to make your best choice possible.
I have 2 aunts that have had the surgery and were fine. I opted for the RAI, but I wasn’t pregnant at the time. I don’t know what I would have done if that were the case.
