You don’t know how glad I was to read your post. I never knew exactly what my mother’s thyroid problems were, only that she had a tumor removed and half her thyroid removed about 2 years before I was born. But, your mention of scarlet fever…..I know that my mother had scarlet fever as a child and perhaps that is what caused her problems. My parents and grandparents were of that age where it really wasn’t nice to tell people your medical problems so no one in the family ever knew what was going on!!

Just another piece to the puzzle falling into place!
