Does anyone know what happens to the thyroid after the initial shock of RAI? I have been reading a number of posts about lowering the thyroxine dose. This has just happened to me and I am unhappy about it as I was feeling quite well on the higher dose. My TSH dropped like a stone to 65 following RAI. It took 162.5mcg to get me functioning again. The dose was lowered to 150mcg, bllod workT4 still high so the dose has been lowered again. I am wondering if this is due to partial recovery of the thyroid after the shock of RAI. I am 6 months post RAI.
