      Hi Vicki et Lauren

It was interesting to hear your stories about your having Graves with normal antibodies titers. Mine is Graves with “borderline significant antibodies”. I think your endos should order an iodine uptake and scan to find out what kind of problems there are in your thyroid. It is just to play on the safe side. I will ask my endo to order TSI (thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin) for me the next time I see him. Thanks for sharing.

I did have an RAI scan. My uptake was 83% and it showed a diffused pattern. My family has a strong history of diabetes, rhumatoid arthritis, some Thyroid trouble and Lupus. So even though I did not have antibodies, my endo said she was 99% sure that it was Graves. I still have a hard time believing that I have it. I did have the RAI and am not on thyroid replacement drugs. But I sure wish I would have waited on RAI–just to see what would have happened. I have a nagging doubt in the back of my mind that maybe I did RAI when I didn’t need to. Anyways–too late now. I wish I could allieviate my doubts somehow.
