Thanks for posting, my Cardiologist ROUTINELY checks thyroid levels and with Tami’s problems, everyone in the family is getting checked. Except for not being able to sleep ( which doesn’t even bother me, I’m quite used to it after 49 yrs !!) I have all the symptoms of hypo, including outraggously high colesterol. Tonight I feel sleepy, so I’m off to bed soon…Joyce

I am sure I have been at least mildly hyper since I was a child. I was a bean pole until I hit 23.. This is alot of peoples story who aren’t hyper or hypo BUT….I gained weight, not a whole lot but enough to convince me that although I knew something was wrong, it couldn’t be hyperthyroidism. I was wrong. I have figured out that I must have been (and still am) too tired to do anything (from the insomnia) but starved due to a high metabolism. I eat alot of food and can’t burn it off with motion. I just want to sit around.
I have not been hypo and unable to sleep. That’s the only time I could sleep (for a brief two months)… But I am sure you can be hyper and overweight. I lost weight during the brief two months that I had a “normal range”
