Hi, Kody. I hope you feel better and you like whatever you decide to do next.
AnonymousApril 28, 2004 at 3:14 amPost count: 93172Hi. I have had this problem too. I gained 30-35 pounds because of the Graves. I am trying to lose the weight by exercising. I am getting some of my energy back so I am able to do that. I lift light weights and also ride my exercise bike ( which until recently, was collecting dust). I had to start out at three minutes on the bike, but now I am up to 10-15 minutes a day.
I am also trying to watch what I eat. I always did watch what I ate, but I am trying to cut down on the sweets a little more. I am also trying to eat more often during the day but less at those times. I still have three, balanced meals though.
Maybe this would work for you or no; it will depend on you and what you feel you should do.
I also try to get enough sleep and try to laugh in my life. It is true that most fitness/diet plans do not talk about those things. But, if you are rested and try to enjoy life, you feel better at least mentally.
Take care and Best Wishes to you.
AnonymousApril 28, 2004 at 9:40 amPost count: 93172Thanks for the info. I’m trying to watch what I eat. I always have. Last year when I lost my 30 pounds, I couldn’t exercise at all because I was so weak. I had trouble opening bottles, so weights were out. Now that I have some strength, I exercise 5 times a week and I’m gaining. I’ll keep on and hope for the best. Good luck to you too.

I was doing “OK” for several months. Then my prescription plan decided that I had to switch from synthroid to the generic. The first month on the generic my TSH doubled. Recently I read an article posted by the American Thyroid Association warning about changing brands of thyroid medication. The article stated that it could impact people and their health. I guess I am a perfect example of this.
I struggle everyday now because of being hypo. I am afraid I will never feel ok again.
My family say – just be positive. WELL – my mental state just can’t get there. I just can’t wait for the day to end, hoping it will be better tomorrow.
I feel like my body weighs 1000 pounds and my brain is not right. Very scary.AnonymousMarch 31, 2005 at 9:22 amPost count: 93172Did you read my reply to your question? I should have changed the subject line, but I just wanted to make sure you knew I responded to your question.
My husband is constantly telling me to stay positive and it is tough to do, but trust me when I say you will get better. I have a long way to go and barely see the light at the end of the tunnel, but we all have to believe.
Joanne.
