        Katie,
Sounds like a second opinion is in order here! From what you are telling us I doubt that your optho has much experience with graves disease eyes. Please consider finding one that has. Your eyes are everything and I can’t imagine being without mine! As you must have read on the BB, many people have had the botox injections and others have had surgeries. Either way, sounds like you need some relief now!
        Keep us posted.

        Good Luck!

Katie, it sounds like you have the same optholmologist I had for a few months. I felt just like you and he actually told me he’d never help me – he said I wasn’t “bad enough” even though I was in extreme pain, couldn’t drive anymore, couldn’t see the biggest E on the chart, etc., etc. I fought for a new optholmologist at my HMO and ended up with a really caring one who’s done a lot for me. Take care.

For my RAI (Nov 1) I was told not to worry about radiation precautions. I had asked because so many people including recommended Thyroid Books all mention precautions. I received 25 mCuries which from what I had read and heard is a fairly high dose. My doctor is a Radiation Oncologist which the name is enough to scare you but is the best person in some towns especially small ones for dealing with radiation. I figure he should know about radiation precautions.

            God Bless,

DITTO – It’s nice to hear from someone who’s been through it and can offer some helpful advise and hints!

              :- )
