      DEAR SHANNON,

      MY HEART BEATS WITH YOU ITS BEEN 2 YEARS NOW, THIS
      SEEMS TO BE THE BIGGEST TROUBLE WITH ME IM ON A BETA BLOCKERS
      FOR THAT PROBLEM, NOW SOME PEOPLE CAN’T TAKE BETA BLOCKERS
      BECAUSE THEY HAVE ASMA AND THEY DONT GIVE IT TO PEOLE WITH
      ASMA BUT IN MY CASE IM BORDERLINE ASMATIC SO IT DOESN’T BOTHER
      ME. WHAT IT DOES DO IS SLOWS MY HEART RATE FROM 130 TO THE NORMAL 70,80
      WHICH HELPS MOST OF THE TIME , I ALS0 TAKE LORAZEPAM NOW THIS
      RELAX’S ME AND HELPS ME SLEEP AT NIGHT. THESE 2 DRUGS HAVE BEEN
      WORKING ,OK YOU CAN’T BE DOING NOTHING YOU HAVE TO TAKE SOMETHING
      SPEAK AGAIN WITH YOUR DOCTOR THEY SAY THE LORAZEPAM IS THE LEAST

        Shannon: Beta Blockers work better than Xanax any day of the week, because
        the anxiety is actually caused by the effect of the thyroid hormones on your
        adrenal glands, etc. Inderal is the most common one used for this, I think.
        Others are Metropolol and Atenol. It works somewhat right away, and then in a few
        days really kicks in. My heart had been going bananas, particularly in the middle of
        the night, waking me out of a deep sleep into a panic state.
