Just wanted to let you know, according to the scale my lab uses, TSH of 7.1 is HYPO. Maybe that’s why they increased your Synthroid.

forever to get the right brands…ones that actually had no starch…
perservatives…yeast…etc….but I feel better now than I have in
the last year…I know the trapazoid has helped alot but the I really
think the vits…have helped my my general overall health,…any good
health food store carrying organic food and vit. should have what
you need…have you read any of Dr.Andrew Weil’s books??? The thyroid
books that heard about through the support group are The Thyroid Sourcebook by Sara Rosenthal
and Your Thyroid by Lawrence Wood…are both easy reading and helpful and
full of sources…you probably already have these but just in case…
I checked with my endo…he know I am really using large amounts of
vits. and he seems to accept this…at this time anything is worth
a try to see if I can go into remission…and no I am home on this Saturday night
while my husband is off at work and my 5 year old sleeps!!!Anonymous

When you’re hyper, the TSH is very low or absent. When you’re hypo, the TSH is high. I don’t know what scale your lab is using, but for mine 7.5 would be high indicating hypo thus additional synthroid.
Hope this helps.

thanks for your response. i really get confused with the levels, however
after six years and three doses of rai, you would think i would know
what is going on. all i know is when my levels are “off”, i know it
before doc even does blood work. guess i need to do some research.thanks,

Sounds to me like you’re an expert on RAI. Perhaps you can tell me. Did you go hypo between treatments or did you stay hyper? I have just reached the hypo stage. Although I suspect it’s hypo for me and not necessarily off the scale. I feel heavy , my hands go dead and I get a wierd tingling in my legs when I try to go to sleep. This is exactly how I felt at the end of 16 months on PTU. They kept telling me I was euthyroid, but I sure felt awful. Grateful for any info you can give.
Thanks,
BrendaAnonymous
