Patricia – You send like a textbook case for RAI. I had my RAI on April 6 (remember we went at the same time) and while my thyroid is slowing down I’ve not gone hypo yet. About 4 weeks after RAI my thyroid swelled up like a balloon and I was really hyper again. The endo increased my PTU to 200 mg a day but am now back down to 100 mg. I go back in about 2 weeks for a blood test and then a visit to the endo again.
It’s really frustrating waiting to see how long it’s going to take. Of course what I’d really like is to just go into remission but the radiologist reassured me he’d given me a high enough dose to kill off my thyroid!
