I was just diagnosed about a week ago. Although I know that I have had a hyperthyroid for at least a year. Anyway—my psychiatrist put me on Cytomel to boost my antidepressant so that my panic would come under control. (Which I now know was my thyroid and not depression and panic per se.) Anyway, the Cytomel almost killed me. Panic out the wa-zoo and toxicosis. I’m not a doctor, but Cytomel will give you a T-3 out of the ballpark and it made me insane. My internist almost had a fit when he found out that I was hyper and the psychiatrist had given me Cytomel. I hope this helps you some. Valerie
