      HI Angie
I feel I”m in the same boat as you. It looks like symptoms are more prevalent after treatment. Could it be that we are just farther along in the disease or is it related? Hypothyroid scares me alot and I”m considering staying hyper as long as I can but the way I feel lately I just dont know.
I’m scared too and think I may be sinking into depression. I was actually feeling that I want to move into a little place all my own and not be around people. I dont think my family would go for it though<joking here>. Seriously though I have been crying alot.
I wish you well and hope you choose the treatment that is best for you.

        Hi Angie,
I may have missed something and if so please forgive me, but just because you have RAI does not mean you will have thyroid eye disease.
On a consenses poll we believe it is possible that people who already HAVE graves eye disease will see their condition worsen. This is not medically proven fact, just a comparison of many people’s reports.
Hope this clears up your questions and fears.
Good Luck To You(whichever treatment you choose!)!

        Regards,
        JAN

Angie, most of the people who experience eye problems after RAI had the problems before the RAI. It can sometimes make the eyes worsen but not necessarily. If you don’t have eye problems now don’t worry about it. Good luck with your RAI. You should be feeling better soon.
