        Teresa,

I have the same symptoms with anxiety. Most of the other symptoms associated with being hyper have subsided. The anxiety lingers. Also, if I am startled awake at night by the telephone or my dog barking, etc. I have a full blown panic attack. —Maybe the hyper stage leaves the nervous system super-sensitive?

        Best wishes,

        Valerie L

          Teresa,

Boy do I know what you mean about the anxiety and panic attacks! You are right, though, GET HELP!! I’ve been on anti-depressants for about 5 weeks now and am feeling MUCH better. I still get down but not so far down that I can’t get back up. The panic attacks are less severe too. Like you, my endo wouldn’t listen. My family doc wouldn’t listen either until I refused to leave the office unless they did something. I had to swallow my pride, but I’m sure glad I did! Take care and best of everything!

Hi warriers. Just got back from eye doc and eyes have basicly stayed the same. Also I gave him literatures from convention and he said he would hand them out to his Graeves patients. He was glad to get info and didn’t know about NGDF and the BB and chat room. Hope this will help others.

Just came back from a visit to my neuro-ophthalmologist. Had 10 radiation treatments to my eyes in June. My eyes have retracted and cleared up from blurred vision. (Still have a little trouble with TV and vertical double vision watching TV)- but can drive and read, etc.
I am so grateful!!! Don’t have to see her for six months. So, if anyone has to undergo the radiation treatments to your eyes, IT DOES WORK!!!

That is super news. Gives me hope that someday when my thyroid gets regulated I might be able to get the radiation treatments and they will help my eyes.

I had my second RAI treatment August 31 (20 millicuries!!) and I am still hyper. My endo only tests free T4 and it was 2.2 last month in a normal range of .7 to 1.5. I’m thinking I have the thyroid from hell and will have to have surgery to get rid of it. Anyone else been this resistant to RAI? I absolutely do not want a 3rd treatment; surgery will be my next option. I want my life back!!!

Hi,Joan! Gosh, what happy news YOU have! I’m happy to know that things went
well and the procedure was successful. I am very interested in this –
I have Graves’ Disease/and of the eyes. My doctor has never mentioned
this to me – may be one good reason why I am dissatisfied with him and plan
on finding a different one. I have had Graves’ for 7 years and I am
sick and tired of the eyes part of it – that and the mood swings. Do
the radiation treatments hurt? Is there a difference in the size of your eyes
right away? I am very interested in this and would like more info. I hope you get to feeling better
soon – please take care ~

To those who have answered my aches & pains questions and suggested that I see a rheumatolgoist for possibly another auto-immune disease.. The Good news is that I do not have arthritis or fibromaglia…the bad news is that it’s probably carpal tunnel syndrome. I’m thankful that it’s not something worse. I will need to wear a wrist brace for a few weeks to see if this clears up. Your advice on questions to ask the doctors and remembering what to report helped a lot. Thanks to everyone!
