Thanks so much for your response and the detail of the following few days after surgery. It is very discouraging, and I just needed some reassurance from someone who has been there. Did you ever have to have another surgery? That prospect almost sends me into another world…especially at this time. Tonight the TV is also messed up….What next? Just hope I havwe enough brain cells left to counteract all these changes. Thanks again. Shirley

I did not have to have any further surgery on my eye muscles. The one and only surgery was done in October 1995 and each year I have a full eye exam by the same doctor. He is very pleased with the results and at this time foresees no further surgery. My eyes will never return to the “normal” that I knew because of the damage from the disease. I was told that prior to the surgery. I have to make adjustments, especially for peripheral vision and looking at the sky. These I can live with. I have found that my eyes tire easily so I just close them for a while until they recover. This may be due to the lack of moisture – don’t know for sure. If you have any more questions that I can help you with – e-mail.
