Do you know why the radiation to the eyes didn’t work? Was there alot of scaring? How long were your eyes “bad”? What problems were you having at the time of radiation? I think it would help to know the particulars of your case. thanks, Gwen

Any information that any one would share about radiation would be very helpful (pros and cons) for those of us that are considering this.
Gwen, how are you doing anything new about your raidation?

        Thanks for sharing

The reason I think the radiation did not work is because my left eye is still sticking out and now my right eye (which I called my good eye) is now starting to puff out too. They both have the red lines in them. My left eye hurts but not all the time. I do not know how much scaring I had or have. I did ask the Radiation doctor that question on the last visit I was allowed to have and he said that they would only know if they went inside- surgery. I only asked because I thought the CAT scan would have told them this info before the radiation treatment would have been authorized by Kaiser(HMO). That doctor also said that I should go back on prednisone or go blind. Well, he did not scare me because I already knew that it was highly unlikely. He probably liked me using the prednisone because it worked. However, the side effects were killing me!

I think my eyes started going in the fall last year. I remember telling my primary doctor about my vision and he just said to make an eye appt with the optical dept. Now I remember my eyes kept watering- even more when the wind hit them. I had gobbs of the wet face problem. The optician doctor said that I was at that time a little bit far sighted (I am alot nearsighted) and maybe I should try the liquid tears. Boy was I mad- a doctor telling me maybe and that she did not know why! All I knew was I never had the wet face syndrom before in my life unless I was crying!
I don’t exactly remember when I made the optho appt but I had one sched in Feb and I remember that it was one of those long wait appointments and I was really looking forward to getting there because my left eye was starting to hurt and get puffy.

In Feb an optho looked at my eyes and told me to come back in a month so he could then re-measure them. Dah- I told him that I really had little eyes! Guess he did not believe me! Ended up going back on March 26th because I could not read at work. I was kinda frantic! Had tests done. Had CAT scan. Had tests done again at the Cleveland Clinic (Eye thyroid Specialist), got my eye scratched there. That is another long story but I lived even if they did send me home with a patch on my eye. I drove myself. I felt like a drunk driver! Got put on prednisone and refered for radiation treatment. The radiation was done in June. Now both of my eyes are puffy. I am off the prednisone. I ended up going back to the optician last Monday cause I could not read and found out that now I am really far sighted. I now have bifocals. I wonder if the radiation messed up my vision because I sure could read before the radiation.
