    Hi Everyone,
Does anyone have any information on Melatonin and Graves? I understand it is considered a natural sleep aid, but note that the bottle has a caution on it for people with autoimmune diseases.
    Thanks,Brenda

After a quick glance to see if anyone answered your question, it looks as if no one has…Melatonin is a no no. It can, possibly, in some people, cause a heart attack. It is not safe for GDers to take. Check out the natural remedies in the same section, and check with your pharmasist and doctor. There are some safe things for us to take.

Has anyone tried the melatonin or the new Excedrin PN or Simply Sleep for the sleeplessness? Does anything help?

I’ve tried melatonin in the past. It did put me to sleep right away, but I had extreme difficulty waking up in the morning. I’ve had better luck with valerian root. But what I prefer is magnesium and warm milk. I take about 133mg and don’t wake up feeling groggy. Check with your doc or pharmacist about possible interactions with any meds you might be on (this is a very good thing for anything you might be taking, OTC meds or supplements).
