Thanks for explaining, but where and what is it? Is it the puffy eyelids? the skin area below the eyes?? Or is it the eyes themselves. Please explain. I like to know medical details which help me understand and communicate better with my doctor. Thanks. Bel

        Bel,
Go to links on our graves’ web page and you will find 2 sites, one is eyeville and the other is mayo clinic opthal. site, (plus we will be adding Bascom_palmer site soon) and these will give you all the eye info you could possibly need and want.

        Hope this helps.

        Regards,

          Bel,
The eye edema can be graves’ related and as with all newly diagnosed graves’ patients, we strongly recommend a good baseline eye exam by an opthalmalogist who treats graves’ opthal. on a regular basis. The eyes are nothing to fool around with, ask anyone here who has severe eye problems associated with the disease. We are only given one set of eyeballs and I think we all hold those precious. We also recommend an eye exam by this doctor once every year. This can be a God send in warding off severe problems.

Hope this helps in some small way.

          Regards,
          Jan, NGDF
