Hi Kitty, Have you every had the orbital irradiation treatments. Treatments for ten days in a row, except weekends. I just finished. Before I started my eyes were watering so badly at night the pillow would be soaked in the morning. Also any bright light made me tear and I hated sunny days. I finished the treatments last week and not a tear and yesterday I was out without sunglasses. They also put me on Prednisone but as on tomorrow I start tapering off that for the next three weeks. I can’t say if the treatments really worked because I don’t see my specialist until 15 April, however, these past few days it has been great. Unfortunately the double-vision is still pretty bad but you can’t have everything eh. Take care. SAS

Anyone, Please help. My eyes water (buckets) all the time. My eye doctor said that is was because of the Graves Disease. But he did not give me anything for it and tell me anything to do. I am at my end, I have thought about poking out my eyes, it could not be anymore painful or aggravating. Does anyone know anything that I can do? I would love immediate relief, but I realize that with Graves there is no such thing.

Hi Dana, Watering Eyes are really a bother arent’t they? Is your Ophthalmologist well versed in Graves Eye Disease? I’m surprised he wouldn’t have suggested some eye drops or ointments. I’ll give you the names of what I use but you may want to check first that it is OK. Everybody’s case is a little different or may have allergies etc. so it is probably better to check first. I use Cellufresh eye drops. There are preservative free and don’t bother me. I also use either Lacri-Lube or Duo lube as ointments before I go to sleep (when I sleep). I put the ointment along my lower lid then use 3M tape to tape the eye closed. It is because your eyes are not completely closing at night that they get dry and then water. I hope this helps. e-mail me if you have any questions. Take care. SAS
