I understand your fears about the recovery and possibility of needing more procedures. Too bad we can’t know these things in advance!!!

I also work outside in sometimes dusty conditions, and that didn’t seem to be a problem during my recovery. The hardest part was that I had severe chemosis, which is a swelling of the membrane covering the white of the eyeball, which made the recovery more difficult and painful, but I still wasn’t off work more than two weeks. It takes much longer to get over the sorness entirely, but for me it’s all been worth it.

    Good luck making your decision.

Hi Stephanie: You mentioned that your one eye was larger than the other. I also have only one that it large at this point. I have the pain when I move that eye to look at something. Did you ever have any change in your other eye, other than swelling, etc?? Do you not have to have orbital decompression on the larger eye? Is this what your doc said? Just interested as I’ve just been diagnosed and have TED hopefully not too bad..

    regards, Ricki
