Hi Judy! I forgot what I already told you, but I was diagnosed in 1990 and took the RAI one month after diagnosis. I waited three years (watching my eyes get more pop-eyed) before I ventured into any eye surgeries.

At this point, my doctors say that my eyes should be stabilized. So, I keep my fingers crossed. I’m starting to get the feeling that my new “friend” (Graves’ Ophthamology) is going to be with me for a very, very long time. We better start getting along with each other!

          Hi Steve,
          Hi Steve,

I’m not so strong-I’ve just live with this a lot longer than you have.
As time goes on you will feel more in control, and it will become more of
a routine. Beleive me, no-one wants a chronic condition , but if you have
to have one this is the one to have! It is treatable, and unlike something
like Diabetes, it won’t kill you a little at a time as the years go by.
Hang in there! This is a wonderfully supportive group, and things WILL get
          better!

          Judy
