August 8 is just around the corner, which is why I’d opt to find out more. In the meantime, read up on nodules, Graves’, etc. RAI isn’t usually recommended with nodules, from what I’ve read. Of course, I don’t have them and really have no clue.

Don’t forget, a second opinion can be a very valuable tool in making your treatment decision. I sought one and it really eased my mind. (I figured two thyroid experts were better than one.)

Hang in there. And, if your symptoms are nasty (heart racing, etc.), see if your doc can prescribe something to help the symptoms. Most of us have been on beta blockers at some time or another, and the dosage can be upped to help you feel a bit less icky.

      Hang in there,
      Melinda

August 8th seems like forever when you are feeling so poorly. Your doctor can give you beta blockers if you have a fast pulse. I wouldn’t have survived without taking tranquilizers and I hate meds. Ask for anything you need to help you get thur this. It is a terrible terrible time and I spent months thinking I was going crazy. I had my thyroid removed in Jan.and while it is a struggle to get the levels right, it is nothing compared to the terror of Graves. It will pass but make them give you something to help you survive until you get there.
Hang in there and thinking good thoughts for you!

Hi Melinda, is this true, that if you have nodules, you shouldn’t do RAI? The reason I ask, is that Ritter1 is alot like me. She just found out that she has GD, and she has 3 nodules, like I have.Any information on this would be helpful. So far, I haven’t made a decision on treatment. And I have 1 week left.
