Last January was when I began to notice subtle changes in my vision.
First I couldn’t make out the time on the vcr and had minor problems
with reading and (of all things) filing my nails! But the changes
didn’t seem to be anything that I wouldn’t associate with needing a
new prescription for glasses. Tearing and swelling began shortly
thereafter and I just thought it was due to a strain on the eyes.
It wasn’t until July that I was finally diagnosed with Graves.
Since I had been hypo for close to ten years I never suspected the
problem could be related to my thyroid – in fact, I was told that
the tearing was probably due to allergies!
Don’t want to alarm you, but I strongly suggest that you make that
appointment first thing.
