I had eyelid surgery on one eye about ten years ago. I remember being very nervous and feeling after I had worried for nothing. Back then I was in the hospital for a couple of days but now it is just day surgery. I don’t remember much pain at all but I was black and blue and swollen for several days.
After my eye healed it looked completely normal and I totally forgot I had even had a problem – until eight years later when I came out of remission. So this time it is the other eye that is giving me the problems. The eye I had the eyelid surgery on years ago has looked OK throughout this whole ordeal so I would think that once the eyelid surgery is done the eyelid can’t be pulled back to give that bulging eye again even if you do get the Graves eye disease a second time.

I’m sure everything will go fine and you will be happy with the surgery. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. Please let us know how it goes. SAS
