      Hi Nancy,
I went through the taping of my eyes for a long time. I remembered that Debby Jass had done a couple of good posts on the subject so I looked them up for you. You go back to the previous page and and change the settings to, Last: all days and sort by: Author and scroll down to Debby Jass which is under “D” so you don’t have to go too far. There is a post on 11/16/97 called Eye pain/Graves Eye care and another 05/05/98 called Eyes at Night. I think there are more also. You can get them another way by having the number of the post but I stupidly did not look at the number when I brought them up.

For me, I used the 3M tape that can be used on skin. My Ophthalmologist suggested I use pieces of saran wrap over the actual eye so if you wake up at night you can see. Use the tape to tape squares of saran wrap over the eyes. The object is to keep the eyes moist after putting your prescribed ointment in.

Welcome to the BB Nancy. You should receive lots of good tips and support for your husband by participating in this BB. I’m sooo glad, especially for newcomers that it is up and running again. Thanks to everyone involved. SAS

You can use the kind you buy at a beauty supply store for your hair. It is pink and very soft. Does not pull the skin or eyelashes. Have him also try wrapping a long piece of saran wrap around his eyes and tie it in back. This helps keeps in the natural moisture and you can add a heavy moisture level eye drop.
