That is pretty much correct. There is not simple cut and dried answer that fits everyone. Each person has different needs that mean a tailored approach to their case.

If the doctors are disagreeing than a third opinion is in order. Insurance should cover a third opinion if your two doctors cannot agree on a course of action.

It is sad that you ended up in the middle to try to make a decision that you do not have the training to make. The answer may be to see who has the best training. We have a link to ASOPERS on our links page. It is the site for finding the best doctors who are trained to do eye surgery and plastic surgery. It is the hardest board to make and if one is a member and the other is not that may be the decision factor.

For example the hospital I go to has four openings a year for current eye surgeons to ender the fellowship for ASOPERS. They have over 2000 applicants every year for four slots. Only the best of the best get selected and become board certified.

We are only a click away.

I took your advice Jake and the neuro op doc from Hopkins is on the list and none of the others are. I am going to give it some time and revisit the issue soon. I have 5 more weeks of prednisone and then an appt with the doc from Hopkins and hopefully by then I will put it all together.
        Thanks

It helps but as you are both saying there is no one answer. Part of the problem is that the ops here are not in agreement and are upset with the recommedations of the other ones. I have also seen a doc at Hopkins. I feel that I need to speak to whoever I can and hopefully will finally get a consensus. I never realized there could be so many approaches to this problem.

Good luck with your surgery and I hope all goes well. (PS Cupcake, the wedding is this sat and I think I am mentally ready to present to my family, not everyone has seen me. The prednisone is calming the swelling down some.)
