Sally, last month I had decided on RAI, however, after re-thinking the fact I could not be around people for 72 hours and within 15 feet of people for one week after that I wondered what the RAI would do to my body. It made me uncomfortable and so I consulted with my surgeon. Basically what I concluded is why take voluntary radiation. Some day I may be forced to take involuntary radation and my body should save “room” for it. He believes we get enough radiation from the environmental elements. My Endo generally says RAI is option of choice these days but tends to agree with myself and my surgeon that the risks of problems in surgery are little if done by experienced hands. I’ll keep you posted. Robin.
Hi Elaine, your optho sounds alot like mine! His coments were, dont believe everything you read on bb, giving me this disgusted look as he said it. He also told me I was one of those people who was “too aware” of pain. Is there such a thing as not being aware of pain?
