      Good Afternoon,
I have had type I diabetes my entire life almost 30 years and also graves disease for the past 4 1/2 years. From my doctors and additional reading, I have found out that it is quite common for people with one auto-immune disease to be pre-dispositioned to have another. The commonalities were graves, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, etc. Not to say everyone will get these will get the other. It has been noted that people with diabetes will get graves disease.

As far as the diabetes, it has been part of me for so long. It teaches you how to eat right, exercise and to really take good care of yourself. That when i found out about the graves under a routine check-up it was a blessing in disguise to catch it early. The 30 years of diabetes has been mild compared to the graves eye disease and the toll it has on you.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

      Peace and happiness,

      Dee
      it can have on anybody.
