I guess my 1st real symptom was puffy eyelids. That started 4 months after RAI in june 96.No other problem until almost a year later-March of this year. I started seeing double,it seemed only when watching TV at night. I thought it was the glass of wine I had at first. Then I got my little Laptop and found the BB. I couldn’t believe it when I saw that double vision was a symptom of Graves.My Endo never told me that could happen. I was never informed as to what the eye symptoms are in case they start to happen.I even saw an Optho for the puffy eyelids and HE never said to let him know if I start to see double. HOLY COW!! So it started in mid-March. In June it started to get a little worse and my left eyelid was retracting,pulling my eyelid up so my left eye looked more opened than my right.I got the first of 10 radiation treatments july 1st.It’s been 27 days.The progression is halted and my muscles are slowly goin back to normal.I can expect the puffiness to go away. If my eyelid needs help in Sept. the surgeon will correct that and any excess skin on my lids.(at 54 that doesn’t make me unhappy!)Then in 6 to 10 months if I have any double vision,it can be corrected.Then I give thanks to God and the BB because it should be over. I cross my fingers every day and am thankful every day that it has never been to bad to function,and that I was led to great doctors.Anyone with questions about the radiation treatments please don’t hesitate to E-mail me……Gwen
