Hi Shortstack,
This is a question only YOUR doctor can answer for you. We cannot determine what the cause of your chest pain is.My Best,

I have begun to think that in my case, it may be associated with my heart rate. With Inderal, it is at 100 BPM. That is twice what it was pre-hyperthyroidism.

Yes I had breathlessness especially before starting the antithyroid med. Also had it when I was severely anemic owing to blood loss before my hysterectomy.
Good luck,
Hope
AnonymousAugust 31, 2000 at 1:10 amPost count: 93172Does it feel liek your heart is racing and your chest is tight at teh same time? How’s your pulse? Rapid heart rate and overexertion (sometimes something that once was extremely simple, like walking from the front door to the mailbox becomes very draining) can make it harder to breathe and harder to catch your breath. I still have this trouble when I go up and down the stairs in our house, especially when I’m making repeated trips to do laundry.

My blood test show that my TSH levels are within the normal range and have been since August this year, but i am still so breathless all the time it seems to be getting worste i am finding it hard to walk up the stairs again. I am on 200mcg of thyroxine.
Has anyone any ideas?

Breathlessness is nothing to mess with, it can signal all kinds of conditions. If your thyroid levels are normal, then something else is going on that needs to be treated, and I wouldn’t wait if I were you.
