    I also have to have good light & contrast to see what I’m doing, even with things like working in the kitchen. Yet when outside, my eyes are very sensitinve to bright light.

    David,
    First, looks like I’ve been wrong about about downward gaze dv, it is primary.
    Thanks for the additional info. Looks like you have good health care.
    Self diagnosing, I would guess my HMO will say to tough it out a while longer since
    things aren’t so bad and there is nothing they can do at the early stage snyway.
    I ought to check out the drops they suggested in an earlier post. The double vision
    has now been corrected. I just have that gritty feeling. I’ve been on the road
    for about a week and I’m finding that reading is very hard unless there is
    high contrast (good light, dark print on light paper) or larger type. What about you?
