Tom – I have access to MEDSCAPE, and when I went back on methimazole, I
checked Medscape’s drug database to make sure I knew all about this medication. The
stats on the medicine (in that database) said not to take vitamin B complex
while on methimazole–that it can aggravate the symptoms of hyperthyroidism.
I found this to be true for ME, as it made me very nervous, and I stopped taking
B vitamin pills. As we all know, however, Graves is strange and what
bothers one person, has little or no effect on someone else. I guess if
it doesn’t bother you, then take them.
