I just read an amazing report today from Health Sciences Inst.newsletter.When a person’s levels read normal, but they still are feeling hypo, it’s called Wilson’s syndrome. It occurs when the body is unable to convert T4 into it’s active form T3.It is recommended to use gradually increased and decreased(cyclic) doses of NATURAL time-released T3.This is for those using thyroid-replacement meds, such as Synthroid, ect. Some could be taking as much as 100mcg a day. their TSH and T4 read normal, yet they feel depresse, anxious, iritable, have low self-esteem, constipation, gain weight, lose hair ,memory and concentration. It was tried to lower the dose of T4,add natural T3, taken once every 12 hours and many if not all symptoms resolved within 2-3 months…..this article said with Armour, it delivers 4 parts T4 to one part T3. The T3 in Armour is not time released and gets delivered unevenly. They like the natural T3. But note,T3 should be used in combo withT4. Too much T3 can cause other problems like osteoporosis and heart arrhytynia. If your body is producing enough T4 on its own,you can take T3 on a cylic and temporary basis…..anyone interested in this report can e-mail me and I will give you the address of the newsletter…….Gwen

I am so confused about this T3 and T4 combination thing. Maybe
my mind if fuzzy or I’m just losing it altogether ( Blame GD! )
All I know is that I am on synthoid and feel crappy the majority
of the time. I guess that could explain my confusion, fuzzy mind,
and all :-) What is with this T3 & T4??? please excuse my ignorance.
I have read so much about Graves, sometimes the more I read the more
mind boggled I become! Before I found this bb almost a year ago, I
thought that you could not go into remission with GD. My doctors told
me RAI, and I went along without question ” duh ” I find that I learn
something new about this disease all the time and it can be overwhelming.
What I learn or hear of does not come from a doctor but from others on
the bb or sites on the net. T3, T4, TSH what else!? I must know all
this by now, I have to!!! my brain is numb. Thanks for listening to
    my pathetic rambling ;-)

    Love to all,
    Shannon.

No, I just take T3. I had no response to T4 and have responsed fairly
well to T3 (25 mcg daily in two doses). I could take T4 in addition, but
my body probably makes all the T4 that it needs.

I have found no doctor since 1972 who will give out just T3 or cytomel.
How did you get it. What tests did they take? How did they know that synthroid was not working
for you. It is very important that you reach me individually so we
can compare notes. Click on the green NGDF logo and find me there.
