Has anyone tried Sugar Busters or the diet that The Thyroid Source talks about? Or any other diet that works. I am getting very frustrated>
I gained about 12 pounds between November 1, 1999 and Jan 1, 2000. I blamed it on the RAI. Atlast check about 6 weeks ago my numbers are in the normal but high range. My TSH is very low. According to my ENDO I
should be able to loose weight. I have lost 3 pounds since January that I attributed to pigging out over the New Year Weekend. I don’t think I really have lost anything.I exercize alot atleast 5 times a week for about an hour to an hour and 1/2. I have been on Weight Watchers what seems like forever. So I really do no how to diet or watch what I eat. I can no longer loose anything.
Thanks,
VickiVicky,
I have had quite a bit of luck with a high protein, low complex carbohydate diet. Since we are not supposed to have iron within a couple of hours of taking the Synthroid, it was easy to eliminate the morning carbs. I usually have fresh fruit for breakfast. I try not to eat breads with lunch and supper (unless I am having a sandwich, then I jam it onto 1 slice of bread). I eat cheese, fruit or nuts for snacks. I have lost 16 of the 31 pounds I gained while hypo on the ATDs and post RAI. My endo has also had me add vitamin and iron supplements at supper. That way I am still getting most of my RDA’s.I hope this helps you. I’m not sure, but isn’t Weight Watchers’ a high carb diet?
Sue
Hi! I was just wondering if you stuck with Weight Watchers? I have been going since December, 1999. My weight loss is very slow…but steady. I will lose like .2 or .8 then maybe a few weeks later a whole pound. But, I figure it beats the alternative. I had gained about thiry pounds since I took the RAI and became hypo. I’m 48 and was diagnosed with Graves about 6 years ago. Take care!
