According to my endocrinology text, Plummer’s disease is not identified with either Graves or Hashimotos. It is a “hot nodule” on the thyroid which acts independent of the TSH/pituitary mechanism, secreting excessive amounts of T4 and T3. It is, in essence, a (usually) benign growth called a follicular adenoma, and often requires surgical removal.
