I called the compounding pharmacist for ‘that naturasl hormone replacement that starts with an A’ and she said yes, there is calcitonin in the replacement formaula. They no longer bleach the pills to be white. This destroyed the calcitonin. Your A—r pills should be an off-white color. Since I am taking this relacement I was glad to hear it contains something extra that I made need to avoid osteoporosis.

        Hi all,
Elise thanks for the info on calcitonin – it was very interesting. I would hope that you could continue to enlighten us on any other info you might find on the issue of calcitonin. Knowledge is certainly power!! It is puzzling though, that having Graves puts us at a greater risk for osteoporosis but yet we don’t need calcitonin replacement. I wonder what the mechanism is that increases our risk for osteoporosis. I will search on the net for answers too and let you all know if I find anything intersting.
