In addition to what Bobbi said:
When I took my first RAI, the doctor said that there was a slight possibility of thyroid storm with the radiation. However, when he found out that I was already on a beta blocker, he said that I would not experience it.
At the same time, he assured me that the dosage was very small – much less than the normal amount given to people with thyroid cancer.
