I was experiencing blurred, tearing, starring eyes prior to RAI. My eyesight got better and so did the tearing and stare.

Hello…it is not uncommon for the eye problems which are associated with being hyperthyroid, for example, blurry, teary, grainly, itchy a little swollen, staring,…to go away with any form of treatment which brings your thyroid levels down. My eyes bother me a bit when my thyroid levels go up or down from normal. They are much better then when I was very hyperthyroid, prior to thyroid bloackade with antithyroid drugs.

This is different from the eye troubles that are a direct result from anti-bodies attack on the eyes..or Graves EYE Disease. That is a much more controversial and difficult subject.

Has anyone in this forum with mild Thyroid Associated Eye Disease experiened improvement both physically and symptomically (in the eye) after RAI ?

Is there any evidence to suggest RAI is actually bad for TAED. I have surfed the net everywhere…and there is no side-effects being listed for RAI in this regard ?

    Any suggestions…?
